Bobbio is the typical old italian village, full of character and history, like the one you dream of.
The pretty village of Bobbio, a small green jewel in the evocative Trebbia valley, is still the destination of travelers retracing the ancient footsteps of monks, dignitaries or simple pilgrims that crossed the Apennines and green valleys crossed by gurgling streams, arrive at the important cultural and monastic centre founded by St. Columban, the well-known Irish monk, who in the 7th century created in Bobbio, crossroads of major
roads, the most important cultural hub of Northern Italy. The quaint mountain town welcomes visitors with amazing landscape views and its hidden treasures: from above, the Malaspina – Dal Verme castle dominates
the entire village, with a splendid view over the ancient roofs and characteristic lanes. The beautiful Bobbio Abbey with its frescoes and the ancient mosaic floor of the crypt, the Duomo, the small museums, ancient buildings and shops that populate the old town intrigue the visitor and will whet the palate with typical products handcrafted and rich in flavor.
